Description

On May 26, 1895, the movie projector played the first film, Workers Leaving the Lumiere Factory. On this day, Broadway audiences saw characters on a screen for the first time. Outside the gates of a factory, off-duty workers went out the door, and passerby walked and rode bicycles in a realistic, natural scene. It used the device invented by Dixon to print each frame on a separate cell and then install them onto a wheel in series. When the handle turns the wheel, the image will move, so it is also called a movie projector. It is still used in amusement parks and shopping malls.
