Description
On Oct 13, 1978 BC, the Phaistos Disc was made and placed on the island of Crete.
The Phaistos Disc is a disk of fired clay about 15 cm in diameter, dating to the middle or late Minoan Bronze Age. It is covered on both sides with 241 tokens, comprising 45 distinct signs, which were apparently made by pressing hieroglyphic "seals" into a disc of soft clay, in a clockwise sequence spiraling toward the center of the disk. Since no similar relics have been discovered, its purpose, origin, and usage still remain a mystery.
