On Aug 29, 2012, Mars Rover successfully landed on Mars.
On this day, 14 minutes after the Mars Rover landed on Mars, Earth received its message. It is the world's first nuclear-powered Mars rover and its mission is to discover lifeforms on Mars. It has a two-year-long mission with 10 instruments to assess the Gale Crater. By using the drill at the end of the robotic arm, it can collect samples of bedrock on Mars. It analyzes the mineral and chemical composition to check the water content on Mars, and whether it is or was a suitable environment for living things.
