Description

On Apr 11, 1877, Edison invented the world's first gramophone.

A phonograph is an electrical device used to play records by placing the disc on a turntable and letting it rotate under a stylus. Edison shook the crank and sang a song to the phonograph. Afterwards, he shook the crank lightly and the machine actually imitated him and sang "Mary had a little lamb, whose fleece was white as snow..." The first talking machine caused a sensation in the world at that time.

[Brief History of the Phonograph]

In the 1950s, Scott invented the sonic vibrator. In the 1990s, Berlina successfully developed a disc-shaped record. In the 20th century, stereo recorders became popular.
