Description
On Feb 22, AD 1237, the Maya held a sacrifice ceremony for the feathered snake.
Deity Quetzalcoaltl, also known as Kukulkan, was the Maya God of weather, harvest, and life. The priest was praying in the pyramid as usual, with wheat, meat, and blood of the enemy on the altar. Just as the prayer was about to end, the winged feathered snake entered the pyramid from the top, and took away all the offerings. Then the king was more certain that it could bless the people.
