Description

On Jul 26, AD 627, Sanzang saw the Leaf Manuscript of Buddhism for the first time.

The Leaf Manuscripts were mostly Buddhist classics, and some of them were ancient Sanskrit texts, which are all extremely valuable. Tripitaka traveled all over Bharata and returned with a huge number of Leaf Manuscripts. The writings were still legible even after thousands of years. Sanzang brought back more than 600 volumes of manuscripts from Bharata and translated the Buddhist scriptures in Chang'an. These scriptures are still preserved in the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.
