Description
On Nov 15, 1896, Guglielmo Marconi invented the telegraph system when he was only in his twenties.
The Marconi Telegraph works because the electrical magnetic waves generated by sounds can be detected by a coherer. Once the electromagnetic wave passes through, the materials inside the device turn into a good electrical conductor that can display regular radio signals. The message can be interpreted with a special telegraph code. Marconi kept improving the device and increased the distance of transmission from a few meters to 50 km.
