Description

On Sep 9, 1922, a mask made of gold was unearthed from the Tomb of Tut Ankh Amun.

Archaeologist Dr. Carter found this surprising mask that was once worn by the Egyptian pharaoh, Tutankhamun, in his tomb. It's plated in gold and inlaid with gems and stained glass and decorated with symbols of the Eagle God and Cobra God, representing Upper and Lower Egypt. The beard symbolizes Osiris, god of the underworld. This important Egyptian cultural relic is kept at the Egyptian National Museum.
