On Sep 19, 1748, Montesquieu published his book on political philosophy for the first time.
Montesquieu spent 20 painstaking years writing his 6-volume collection with 31 chapters. He proposed the Separation of Powers, which suggests running a country by the three independent powers from legislature, executive, and judiciary perspectives. He believed in respecting private property rights, promoting industrialization, and commercialization, reducing taxes, and abolishing slavery. It is the earliest classical masterpiece of public law and has a great impact on modern political science.
