Description
On Apr 17, 197 BC, this sculpture was completed. It expressed the tragic fate of the loser.
This statue is the defeated leader of the Gauls. After his loss, he, his wife, and other survivors were sold as slaves by the Pergamons. He chose to end his life due to shame, while his wife and others were sold into slavery. It conveyed a moving and tragic story. The sculptor portrayed the moment the leader took his life. With contrasting techniques, the statue was created by using a 3D image that allows the viewers to feel the intense emotions from all directions.
