Description
On Apr 16, 1590, Zacharias Janssen and his son invented the world's first microscope.
Janssen made a microscope by putting a concave and convex lens together. Due to the low quality, it can only magnify things up to 10 times bigger more than an ordinary magnifying glass does and cannot be used to see microorganisms. After many tries, he finally made a microscope that can magnify things 300 times and finally allows people to observe microorganisms.

20 years later, Leeuwenhoek invented microscope 720x. The duplex microscope was first created in the 19th century.
