Description
On Mar 28, 1994, a Jade Burial Suit was unearthed from the Shizishan tomb in Jiangsu.
The Jade Burial Suit is made by stitching jade stones with gold threads. It was used to protect corpses and has a shape similar to the human body. It consists of 6 parts, including the head, torso, and 4 limbs. Large pieces of jade and night pearls are also found in some of the openings. Made from dozens of catties of jade and gold silk, this garment is a sign of status and wealth and reflected the ancient idea of seeing death as life.
