Description

On Aug 30, 86 BC, this Greek Corinthian Pillar was officially used in architecture.

It first appeared in the Temple of Zeus. Roman commander Sulla captured Athens, destroyed the unfinished building, and transported it to Rome, which is now the Roman Forum. This column is narrower than the Ionian column, and the top is decorated with renoncule leaves, in the shape of a flower basket. It stands in front of the Temple of Zeus.
