Description
On June 22, 601 AD, the Buddha Finger Sarira was sent to Daxing City, the Capital of the Sui Dynasty.
Emperor Wen of Sui, Yang Jian, ordered to have the Buddha Finger Sarira enshrined in a dagoba. On the enshrinement night, dazzling white light shot out of the dagoba, illuminating the entire temple. The abbot of the temple want to check things up. The light dimmed and then re-brightened three times in a row. After the news reached Chang'an, Yang Jian was overjoyed. He summoned Wand Shao, a historiographer, to record the auspicious event in the Book: The Shining of the Sarira.
