Description
On Apr 20, 1663, this once enshrined prehistoric statue was unearthed.
The 3-faced God, a fearless deity who had the audacity to fight against Sakra in ancient times. It was carved from non-local ocher oolitic limestone.
The statue has three different heads. Here's what the Dirghagama-sutra says about the 3-faced God: Tall, large, with the sun and the moon in two hands, lives under the sea by Mount Meru, three heads, eight arms, strides across mountains and oceans, like a skyscraping pillar that can shake the earth.
