Description
On May 18, 1876, musician Tchaikovsky wrote his first ballet, Swan Lake.
Tchaikovsky drew inspiration from folk tales to compose this ballet. The ballet tells the story of princess Odette, who was turned into a white swan by an evil sorcerer's curse on the shore of Swan Lake. Prince Siegfried fell in love with Odette when he visited Swan Lake. On the night of the prince's choice of bride, the devil has his daughter Black Swan disguise as Odette to deceive the Prince. The Prince nearly fell into the trap but eventually found out the truth. He fought and slaughtered the evil sorcerer. The white swan recovers her human form as a Princess, and is reunited with the Prince for a happily ever after.
