Description

The Narmer Palette is a shield-shaped palette that records the reign of Pharaoh Narmer. On the front side, Narmer is wearing awhite crown and holding a scepter while his enemy is fleeing. On the back, he is wearing a red crown on a battlefield full of enemy bodies. The white crown stands for Upper Egypt while the red one stands for Lower Egypt. His wearing both symbolizes the unification of Egypt. Therefore, the palette is also a symbol of Narmer's unification of Egypt. }}
