Description
On Feb 5, 1812 AD, William Monroe made the first pencil in the world.
By inlaying the lead in the groove bar of wood, an American carpenter named William Monroe made the first wood pencil in the world. Moreover, he also invented the pencil-making machine that was able to cut the wood into slats and create a groove for the lead. This pencil-making technique lasted for more than two hundred years.
