Description
On May 1, 1970, this famous prophecy began to circulate in the Buendia family.
Prophet Melgades was a witness to the fate of the Buendia family and Macondo. Melgades performed his so-called Macedonian alchemy and created the 8th miracle of the world. He made a prophecy saying that the first person in the family would be trapped on a tree and the last would be eaten by ants. Eventually, the lonely and old Melgades went to take a bath in the river on a Thursday afternoon and ended his life.
