Description
On Apr 3, 548 AD, people made this statue to pray to Ganesha, the God of Wisdom.
This charmingly naive statue depicts the dance of Ganesha, the God of Wisdom. It is said that he was originally a boy made of clay by Parvati during Shiva's religious practice. Parvati breathed life into him and ordered him to guard the house. When Shiva returned, as he abided by his mother's order, he was killed by the enraged Shiva. Under the guidance of Brahma, Shiva placed the head of lndra's mount on Ganesha's head, to pacify his wife's rage by granting the boy a new life.
