Description
On Dec 17, 1892 AD, the world's first vacuum flask was invented by Dewar.
The Dewar Flask is a double-layer glass container with mercury applied to the interior wall of the two flasks. By removing the air between the two flasks, Sir Dewar was able to create a vacuum environment, which presented heat loss through radiation, convection, currents, and conduction. This allowed the temperature of the fluid in the flask to remain consistent, making it useful in laboratories, hospitals, and other settings. Later, the Dewar Flask was improved and became an early form of the vacuum cups we use today.
