Description
On Sep 15, 1969 AD, this latest Warship Air Defense System was installed and used for the first time.
The system has been equipped on Ticonderoga-class cruisers and Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, it has become the benchmark for a new generation of shipborne-air defense systems. However, the main component of the AESA Radar, the phase shifter, can be easily damaged and is expensive. Regular maintenance is costly.
