Exploration is one of the very first thing's you'll be introduced to in Super Snails. This is an idle mechanic that should be active 100% of the time in order to make the most of it. This doesn't require much active work, but here we'll break down everything you need to know about Exploring.

Stats

The first thing to understand are your stats; there are two different sets of stats that relate to your snail: HARD and AFFCT.

HARD Stats

HARD stats is short for HP, ATK, RUSH, and DEF.

HP, or health, represents the snail's aerobic fitness. Higher HP means that it can last longer in battle.
ATK, or attack, represents the snail's muscle strength. Higher ATK means more damage it can deal to enemies.
RUSH represents the snail's cellular activity. After seeing through the enemy's weakness, it can cause extra RUSH damage in battle.
DEF represents the snail's ability to resist attacks. Higher DEF means less damage it will take in battle

Most enemies have a weakness, which can be seen on that enemies stats page. Weakness are typically one of the five AFFCTs or the entire AFFCT and, if you've reached that AFFCT you can deal extra RUSH DMG to that enemy during the fight. This can often be the determining factor of whether you defeat an enemy or not.

AFFCT Stats

AFFCT, as the name suggests, consist of Fame, Art, Faith, Civilization, and Technology. AFFCT Stats come from Relics and are used for a variety of purposes. During exploration, you'll need certain a certain AFFCT to get RUSH on enemies, and you'll also come across AFFCT Checks that require you to have a certain amount of AFFCT in order to proceed in the event. You can often lower the required AFFCT Check with INTEL, Relics, or Snail Avatars

Compass

The Exploration Compass is where you can embed your relics for stat boosts. There are five slots in the compass, corresponding to each of the 5 AFFCT types: FAME, ART, FTH, CIV, and TECH. Each of these slots is unlocked as each AFFCT rises and will boost your HARD stats so choosing the right relic is important. See Relic Guide for more info!

FAME boosts all HARD Stats
ART boosts HP
FTH boosts RUSH
CIV boosts ATK
TECH boosts DEF

Forms

As you raise your AFFCT and Evolve your snail, you'll unlock different Forms, which give different exploration buffs. Once you unlock your first form, it's recommended to no longer use the base form since it doesn't give any good boosts to your exploration.

Demon and Mutant forms are recommended for the majority of explorations, until your Dragon Form has been evolved to T4. After that, Dragon is recommended for all progression and realm completion, and other forms can be chosen to grind for specific materials, in Snail Arena, and Gene Simulations. See Evolution and individual Form pages for more information.

Gear

Initially, you only start with a limited number of gear slots and have to unlock the rest with B-tads after a certain AFFCT is reached. These should be very high priority. Generally, you should always equip the relevant Realm gear for the area you're exploring in (and upgrade these asap!), the form gear relevant to the form you're exploring with, and plenty of good instrument gear. Armor gear is often better for pvp fights, though some are good for exploration as well. You should avoid equipping material gear as they have no good boosts and are generally best for upgrading the other gear you have.

Once you unlock the Garage, it's recommended to break down your old Realm gear for realms that you have achieved 100% in, since it's not useful anymore.

Realm Traits

Every Realm, except Time Rift, has a Realm Trait that can be used as an extra boost during your explorations.

Realm Trait Realm Lv.1
Effect
Recommendation

Deadly Ironball
Koryeo.png
Koryeo
Before combat, deal 90% DMG This is good to start with, but very expensive to upgrade and not worth it in the long term. For now, try not to upgrade this unless you've very stuck on your current fights. The next couple of Realm Traits will be much better
Sacred Mirror.png
Sacred Mirror
Yamato.png
Yamato
Before combat, Snail ATK +9%
Before combat, Snail DEF +9%
Each round, Snail HP +350
This is, the best Realm Trait for long fights (more than 5 or so rounds) if you do NOT have RUSH. This should be upgraded fully as soon as possible, and unsealed
Supreme Warlord.png
Supreme Warlord
a.k.a. Lu Bu
Cathay.png
Cathay
HP +60
ATK +25
DEF +10
Ignore DEF 1%
This is an improved version of the Ironball and is strongly recommended for shorter fights (5 or fewer rounds). Ideally, Lu Bu can help you to dominate tricky apostles that you can normally get down to 5 or 4 rounds.

INTEL/Cells/Treasure Maps/Loot gained +1.3% This is great for grinding areas that have already been completed for their resources.

Reduce all enemy's ELMT RES by 2
Reduce enemy's HIT by 0.4
Reduce enemy's CRIT by 0.2
This is great for PvP Snail Arena.

Allows travel to the Past and Future of the Realms This unlocks a lot of new content with decent rewards, but is not a high priority compared to the others.

Hellas
Before combat, Snail HP +5%
If you spot a weakness, Ignore DEF +500
When HP < 50%; Fire DMG, Water DMG, Earth DMG, and Wind DMG +120
If you spot a weakness, DMG +10%
Revive upon death and Restore 5% HP
Before combat, Snail ATK and RUSH +5%
When HP < 50%, CRIT DMG +12%
This is, the best Realm Trait for long fights if you DO have RUSH.

Realms

Once you're ready to go, fill up your lunch box and choose your Realm! Exploring in every Realm yields that Realms' Treasure Map and cards; green, blue, and purple reagent; B-tads and W-tads; and Time Chests.

Food

In order to fully explore a Realm, your snail needs enough food to do it! Make sure to fully stock up on your food supplies before heading out. When you first start, your Meal Box Capacity will be pretty small, but through defeating Apostles you can raise the Meal Box Size so you can take more and more food with you. Food is found by collecting from your fungus farm and exploring. Check out the Fridge as well!
